Matilda Murphy, Aged 14 has won the ‘Design a Logo’ competition held by Picket Piece Sports and Social Club.
Katie Fluen, Media Officer of Picket Piece Sport and Social Club commented: “Our local community is rapidly expanding and we felt it was time to update our image in line with these changing times. As a committee we wanted to involve our neighbours and members so we launched a ‘design a logo’ competition. Matilda’s entry was chosen because of its welcoming and relaxed feel. The logo will appear in many places but in particular is a great addition to our new website”
Simon Potter, Chairman of Picket Piece Sports and Social Club added: “Picket Piece will see the completion of 530 homes by 2017, the initial building plans included a proposal for a separate and new community hall. With negotiation from the villagers the current building will be utilised to meet these requirements. This has given us the opportunity to think about how we service our community and how we welcome our new neighbours, this all needed to start by us raising our profile and identity. Our new logo will help kick start this”
